LA FAMIGLIA
Originario di una famiglia semplice ed unita, Dudovich ha sempre conservato un ricordo affettivo dei suoi cari. Il padre Antonio, oriundo della Dalmazia fu un fervido garibaldino, mentre la madre, Elisabetta Cadorini, fu un’eccellente musicista e pianista, dedicando tutto il suo amore ai quattro figli: Maria, Itala, Manlio e Marcello.
Dudovich incontrerà a Bologna tra il 1900 ed il 1905 la futura moglie Elisa Bucchi, giornalista di moda, con la quale convolerà a nozze nonostante lei abbia già un figlio, Ernesto, al quale poi Dudovich darà il proprio nome. Ernesto morirà poi in Australia.
Dal matrimonio nascerà l’unica figlia, Adriana, che verrà alla luce a Monaco di Baviera nel 1911. .
Adriana successivamente, sposerà l’artista feltrino Walter Resentera che anni prima aveva frequentato Dudovich col fermo intento di diventarne suo allievo.
Insieme i due artisti collaboreranno sia nel settore della grafica che in quello della pittura murale.
La nipote di Dudovich, Nives, figlia di Itala, frequenterà lo studio di Marcello diventandone allieva e modella, e successivamente, intraprendendo la strada di pittrice con validi risultati. Anche le altre nipoti, Elisa ( Lisetta) e Brunilde ( Nenè) figlie di Manlio Dudovich, si presteranno come modelle allo zio Marcello che le ritrarrà come validi soggetti di studio.
FAMILY
Native from a simple and united family Dudovich has always retained a sentimental memory of his loved ones. His father Antonio, a native of Dalmatia was an ardent partisan, while his mother, Elizabeth Cadore, was an excellent musician and pianist, devoting all his love to the four children: Maria, Italy, Manlius and Marcellus.
Between 1900 and 1905 in Bologna, Dudovich met his future wife Elisa Bucchi, a fashion journalist. He married with her even though she already had a son, Ernest. Dudovich gave him his surname. Later Ernest died in Australia. Adriana was the only daughter of Marcello and Elisa, she was born in Monaco of Bavaria in 1911. Later, Adriana married the artist Walter Resentera, who earlier years had attended Dudovich with the firm intention of becoming his pupil.
Together the two artists worked both in graphic arts than in the mural arts. Dudovich’s nephew, Nives, the daughter of Itala, attended the study of Marcello becoming a student and a model, and then taking the road as a painter with good results. The other nephews, Elisa (Lisette) and Brunilde (Nene) the daughters of Manlio, lent themselves as models and Dudovich drew them as valid subjects of study.
